We had gone out to eat that night of the 10th to Chipotle, then we went to the mall to return some things. It had begun to snow, but it was mostly tiny slush. Nothing really at all. The mall was dead that night, which is always awesome. We were at the mall for maybe an hour at the most and as we stepped outside, there were giant snow flakes falling. The wind was blowing too which made the snow fall a crazy experience. It felt as though we were in a snow globe. We made it home and sat on the couches marveling at the snow falling outside. It was beautiful.
the night of the 10th, about 2 inches
the next morning, about 7 inches
Van and Betty are the first to step out.
Down our street was a fallen tree. There were several of those around the area.

Ruby saw someone's "Frosty" and had to "snuggle him!"
View at the park.
After walking to the park, Ruby was done, so she and I went home and the boys picked up our sleds and went back out to Greenway Elementary. They went sledding for several hours. The boys helped some older kids build a ramp where they slid and caught air. They loved it.
After the first few days of excitement over snow (that we never usually get) everyone was done but the snow relented. It would not go away. Parents were freaking out over their kids missing so much school I believe that they missed around 9 days that will have to be made up at the end of the year. I am so grateful to homeschool! :)
Here's some more snow pictures, towards the end of snowpocalypse...
Weston holding a huge icicle!
The boys climbed up a huge mound of snow at the mall. DANG!
By the 18th the weather warmed up and began raining, then everything turned to mush. Bye bye snow. I hope you stay a distant friend. Portland is not ready for you and probably will never prepare.
